ltd 2021 repress - max 1 per customer , regraded, a sub label of midlands graded imprint focusing on more disco leaning 4/4 music. with just two releases to the labels name from newcomer hubie davison and midland himself, regraded has already enjoyed some substantial attention from the strength of the music. midlands double feature became an overnight summer anthem and hubie davidsons sanctified become a late contender for track of the year. for regrd003 midland is back in the fold with a double header certain to soundtrack all kinds of summer moments. on the a-side final credits takes centre stage with joyous samples and a vocal line that will melt dance floors. on the b-side, vigilante takes on a more reserved menacing persona. dreamy whirling synth lines accent rolling live percussion. both tracks continue the strong run of form the label has been on.

the premise of this album is that transformation is possible. it frees the known to dare into the unknown. home stories is hainbachs fourth release on seil records. it displays an uncompromising approach to sonic world-building and explorative ambient music. the majority of home stories was recorded in the black forest, the artists old home, but the album is far from a reflection on the past. it is about the changes this area has seen and more importantly, about transformation in general. as humans have always been changing the landscapes - for better or worse - hainbach takes a tentative listen to what can be found in taking the well-known and changing it to the uncanny. thus the piano, which often serves as a compositional root sound and familiar element changes over the course of the tracks, is abstracted, re-synthesized, shaped into abstract forms, and relocated to physically impossible places. produced & mixed by hainbach. mastered by salz mastering artwork by nasa design by aoki & matsumoto
